Parks and Recreation:  Parks Division

We are able to provide a variety of recreational opportunities to Clay County's citizens and visitors. Program and activity information may be obtained by calling (904) 284 or 269-6378. We maintain 9 community parks, 19 neighborhood parks, and 11 public boat ramp lanes, as well as approximately thirty-five miles of hiking, biking and walking trails. We also maintain a three-acre fishing pond in conjunction with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission located at Ronnie Van Zant Park in the Lake Asbury area.

Recreation Division

Organized recreational activities include soccer, baseball, softball, football and cheerleading. These activities are offered for the youth at 8 of our Community Parks located throughout the county. Organized adult softball opportunities are offered at the Paul C. Armstrong Park, located at 2445 CR 220, Doctors Inlet. Activities offered include men's & women's league plan, and coed play. Also State and National Qualifying tournaments are held at this site.

Passive Recreation

Passive recreation is available at several of the Community Parks (please refer to our "Community Parks" section) as well as State Parks and Conservation Areas within the County.

State Park Guides and Water Management District Guides are available at our offices located at 3557 Highway 17, Green Cove Springs or the Clay County Tax Collector's Office, 477 Houston Street, Green Cove Springs.

Many of the Community Parks offering organized activities are closed at 10:00 pm, whereas all other parks (Neighborhood & Community) close at sunset. The Ronnie Van Zant Fish Management Area closes thirty minutes before sunset.

If you would like us to mail you any information or if you have any questions, please contact us at (904) 284 or 269-6378.
