UF/IFAS Extension Clay County is a partnership between Clay County Board of Commissioners, the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS), and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), linked to a statewide and national network of expertise. Extension provides research-based educational programs on a wide variety of topics within the areas of agriculture, natural resources, horticulture, family and consumer sciences, and 4-H youth development. Programs are conducted by professionals and trained volunteers, both on-site and around the county, and utilize hands-on or experiential learning, whether preserving the freshest strawberries, expanding your apiary, or leading a 4-H Council meeting.

The Clay Soil and Water Conservation District, led by five locally elected members, provides citizens and agencies with educational and information about the county's soil and water with a charge of implementing conservation of these basic components of life.
