I want to welcome you to the Clay County Fire/Rescue Department official volunteer web site. Our site is a work in progress, and contains valuable information about our department and our community. I encourage you to explore the different areas of how you can serve your community.
The Clay County Fire/Rescue Department has the strength of approximately 200 career public safety employees and 75 volunteers that serve in areas such as fire fighters, EMT’s, Paramedics, and Customer Service. We serve a residential population of an estimated 199,798 citizens as of 2014. Our twelve fire stations provide services to a geographical area of 644 square miles. The service area includes residential, commercial, and rural areas.
Our department provides the following services: Fire Suppression, Vehicle Rescue, Medical Rescue and Transport, Hazardous Materials Team, Special Operations Team, Public Education, Fire Prevention, Emergency Management, Dispatch, Logistical Support, and Fire Safety Training.
Our department strives to improve the services we provide our community. To accomplish our mission, we need your support and understanding of our operations. I hope that our new web site contributes to building an even better and stronger partnership between us and our community.

Clay County Burn Ban in Effect
With unusually dry conditions indicating a substantial increase in wildfire probability and pursuant to Ordinance numbered 04-1, the County Manager of Clay County issued a burn ban today that will remain in effect until further notice.
