*The public comment meetings for Moody Avenue Park and Doctors Lake Park scheduled for Wednesday, September 25, have been rescheduled to October 10. Residents can still submit their comments by email at askclay@claycountygov.com.

Our community is invited to share their ideas and comments on proposed improvements to two of our county parks. The two public comment meetings will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at the Orange Park Library. The Clay County Board of County Commissioners plans to submit two grant applications to the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program (FRDAP) for improvements to Doctors Lake Park and Moody Avenue Park. Residents are encouraged to take the Doctors Lake Park Survey and the Moody Avenue Park Community Survey

The Doctors Lake Park proposed improvements include replacing the 180-ft long fishing pier at Doctors Lake Park, replacing a bulkhead, adding a kayak launch, and paving the parking lot. The estimated funding request for this project is $200,000. This will be discussed at the 6:00 meeting.

The Moody Avenue Park proposed improvements includes replacing the existing playground unit with ADA accessible playground equipment, replacing the existing rubber surfacing, and improving the underground drainage system located within the play area. The estimated funding request for this project is $200,000. This will be discussed at the 6:30 meeting.

The Orange Park Library is located at 2054 Plainfield Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073. Additionally, the public may submit comments by email to askclay@claycountygov.com during the online public comment period which begins on September 12, 2024 and closes on September 27, 2024 at close of business. Agencies, groups, and members of the public are invited and encouraged to share their ideas and comments regarding this project with County staff.
