Our community is invited to share their ideas and comments on proposed improvements to two of our county parks. The two public comment meetings will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at Moody Avenue Park.
The Clay County Board of County Commissioners plans to submit two grant applications to the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program (FRDAP) for improvements to Doctors Lake Park and Moody Avenue Park.
The Moody Avenue Park proposed improvements includes replacing the existing playground unit with ADA accessible playground equipment, replacing the existing rubber surfacing, and improving the underground drainage system located within the play area. The estimated funding request for this project is $200,000. This will be discussed at the 5:30 meeting.
The Doctors Lake Park proposed improvements include replacing the 180-ft long fishing pier at Doctors Lake Park, replacing a bulkhead, adding a kayak launch, and paving the parking lot. The estimated funding request for this project is $200,000. This will be discussed at the 6:00 meeting.
Moody Avenue Park is located at 3510 Moody Avenue, Orange Park.
Agencies, groups, and members of the public are invited and encouraged to share their ideas and comments regarding this project with County staff.
