What do I do if I miss or need to reschedule an appointment?

If you need to reschedule an appointment, please email or call as soon as possible. Medical staff may not be available to see your animal if you do not come at your scheduled appointment time. Please give us 24 hours to respond to emails or voicemails.


What do I need to bring to my appointment?

Please bring your foster folder to every appointment. If you have any foster supplies from the shelter, please also bring those back at your last appointment.

 

What do I do if I have a medical concern? (Yellow Flag)

If you have a medical concern (yellow flag) during normal business hours, Tuesday-Saturday from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm, please contact the main shelter line at (904) 788-1085.

If you have a medical concern after hours, but feel it can wait until the next business day, please email the foster coordinator at clayfosters@claycountygov.com.

 

What do I do if I have a medical emergency? (Red Flag)

If you have a medical emergency (red flag) during normal business hours, Tuesday-Saturday between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., please come directly to CCAS but call the main shelter line, (904)788-1085, to let us know you are on the way.

If you have a medical emergency (such as a hit by car, animal attack, seizure, non-responsive animal or major illness) after hours, please contact the foster on call at (904)788-1008. An Animal Services staff member must approve all after hours care

  • Approved emergency clinics are:
    • Clay Humane Society, Friday - Sunday, 5:00pm - Midnight (904)-276-7729
      • They will need to have the Animal ID# to authorize care, so please remember to bring your foster folder with you.
    • *We cannot reimburse for any medical care that is paid for by the foster parent or done at any other veterinary emergency clinic.*
