  • How long will this project take?

    Phase 1 is complete. The Office of Broadband awarded Comcast a grant to continue the county's broadband project to Phase 2. This portion encompasses more of the Keystone Heights and Clay Hill areas, along with Middleburg, McRae and Virginia Village. Comcast applied for another grant through the Office of Broadband, and that has not been awarded yet. We'll keep our community and this page updated as these projects progress. 


  • If I want internet what do I do?

    Households and businesses will have the option to sign up as a customer with Comcast and purchase services according to their specific needs. Comcast also participates in the Federal Communication Commission’s Affordable Connectivity Program through Internet Essentials, which provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households.


  • What is the Broadband Infrastructure project?

    Clay County Commissioners voted to approve the Agreement for Broadband Infrastructure with Comcast Cable Communications, LLC to extend broadband service into areas of Clay County that lack internet service. The system will be owned, operated, and maintained by Comcast. 


  • What is the internet provider?

    Comcast currently serves many areas of Clay County and has agreed to extend its cable system and will design, contract, and maintain a state-of-the-art broadband network in the designated service extension areas in a phased approach.


  • What speeds will be available?

    You can contact Comcast for that information. 


  • Which areas are getting internet?

    Phase 1 - Completed

    The BCC funded an expansion of Comcast’s cable system to provide internet service to portions of Clay Hill and Keystone Heights.  

    Phase 2 - Grant awarded 

    The Office of Broadband awarded Comcast a grant to continue the county's broadband project to Phase 2. This portion encompasses more of the Keystone Heights and Clay Hill areas, along with Middleburg, McRae and Virginia Village. 

    Phase 3 - Grant applied 

    Comcast applied for another Office of Broadband grant to extend broadband to areas of Penney Farms, Virginia Village, Keystone Heights, Kingsley Lake, and parts of State Road 16, State Road 315, and State Road 17. You can find more information about the grant status here.
