We love having events in our county!
Thinking about hosting an event within the unincorporated areas of Clay County? There are a few factors that can help you determine if an Event Permit will be needed:
- An event that is reasonably expected to have 500 people or more in attendance at one time
- An event that requires a road closure
- An event that includes the consumption of alcoholic beverages on County-owned property, primarily the Clay County Fairgrounds or the Revels Senior Center.
- An event of a nonprofit organization, if the event is expected to have 500 people or more at one time and have one of the following: outside artificially amplified sound, high-intensity lighting, erection or temporary structures, activities that impinge upon any adjacent public, business or residential areas.
- An agritourism event that is reasonably expected to involve substantial offsite impacts including, but not limited to, ingress/egress traffic, outside artificially amplifies sound, high-intensity lighting, or noise.
To ensure events are as safe as possible and each event has the resources it needs for public safety, our County Commissioners approved an Event Ordinance outlining key safety measures based on the scale and type of event. This Ordinance is now in effect for events within the unincorporated areas of our county.
Remember that each city or town has its own event policies and processes.
The completed applications with payment must be submitted at least 90 days before your event date.
We look forward to working with event organizers to continue to deliver events our community enjoys.
