Safely disposing of residential medical sharps is free and easy in Clay County.

Sharps Container

Do your part to minimize risk to the public and the environment. Improperly disposed of sharps can puncture solid waste containers, place workers along collection routes and at landfills at risk, or clog sewer lift stations.

Through a partnership with Clay County Environmental Services, the Florida Department of Health – Clay County is provided biomedical sharps containers, which they offer to Clay County residents at no cost.

Containers can be picked up during regular business hours at the Florida Department of Health in Clay County. Containers are also available at Orange Park Medical Center.

  • Use only approved sharps containers- you will receive a new container in exchange
  • Fill only 3/4 full and dispose of after 30 days of this level
  • Seal the container before transporting
  • Bring proof of Clay County residency
