What we do:
“A library is not a luxury but one of the necessities of life.”—Henry Ward Beecher.
It has been known for generations that a library is more than just a building. A library houses the essence of a community.
The Friends of the Green Cove Springs Public Library organization has spent the last two decades striving to provide the community with a place that houses books and helps its members seek and succeed.
For many years, the Friends has helped thousands of children discover the wonders of reading. They helped adults expand their minds and improve their lives.
When the Green Cove Springs Library needs new shelving for its constantly expanding collection, the Friends meet that need.
Only through the support of patrons like you can we continue to provide these essential services for the betterment of our community.
As a Friend of the Green Cove Springs Library, you will be making significant contributions to our community:
- You will help us foster a closer relationship between the library and Green Cove Springs and Clay County residents.
- Your support enables us to promote the library's resources, services, and needs.
- Your membership is your voice in informing city and county officials of their role in supporting the library.
- Your participation is integral in developing and improving the Library's services.
Your membership dollars work to support several resources that include:
- Internet access/technology
- New best-selling books in print and on CD
- DVDs
- Current periodicals
- Year-round programming for all ages
- Cultural and educational programming for families, young adults, and seniors
- Story hour programming for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers
- Annual summer reading program
