Standard Limits per card: Patrons may borrow up to the maximum of each type, not to exceed 15 items per card, 50 items per family on loan at any one time.

• Most material may be renewed once. Materials may be renewed in person, over the phone, or online.
• Items may not be renewed if: they are on hold for another patron, the library card is blocked due to fines or fees, or the library card is expired.

• One long loan per calendar year may be made during checkout.
• Long loan changes the loan period to 4 weeks with no renewals.
• Long loan is made at the request of the patron.
• Purpose is to allow patrons who will be out of the area longer than two weeks to avoid overdue fines.

• During the summer (defined as eight weeks starting from the week after schools are closed for the summer in Clay County), patrons may request a Summer Loan Period checkout for books older than six months.
• Summer Loan Books are checked out for a maximum of 8 weeks with no renewals.
• The purpose is to allow patrons going out of town for an extended period to bring materials with them and avoid overdue fines.
• Only books older than 6 months are eligible for the Summer Loan period.

• These items are borrowed from outside the Clay County Library System. The lending institution sets the loan period. The default loan period shall be two weeks or longer at the lending library's discretion.
• All Interlibrary loans (ILLs) must be returned to the Clay County Branch library from which they were checked out.
