Mobile Hotspot

A mobile hotspot is a small device, about the size of a deck of playing cards, that provides internet access. Similar to a cellphone, a hotspot connects to cellular networks and shares that connection via WiFi with nearby laptops, tablets, and game consoles. Our mobile hotspots offer 24/7 internet access that you can use at home or on the go!

Please keep the following rules in mind when borrowing a hotspot from the Clay County Public Library:

- You must be 18 years or older and have a Clay County Public Library card in good standing.

- Each account is allowed to check out one hotspot.

- The checkout period is 14 days, with a late fee of $1.00 per day.

- Patrons can place a hold on a hotspot and will be notified when it's ready for pickup. Once notified, patrons have 3 days to pick up the hotspot.

- If no one else is waiting to borrow it, patrons may renew a hotspot.

- Hotspots must be returned to the Circulation Desk at any Library location and cannot be dropped off in the book-drop.

- If a hotspot is overdue by 24 hours, it will be deactivated.

- The replacement cost for a lost or damaged device is $100 for the device, $10 for the charger plug and/or cord, and $20 for the case.

Mobile hotspots are made available through an Innovation Grant from the Northeast Florida Library Information Network and the CARES Act Grant.
