NOTICE WARNING CONCERNING COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS

The Copyright Law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.

Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction.

One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not o be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction in excess of "fair use" that user may be liable for copyright infringement.

The institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, it its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of the Copyright Law.

We make every effort to fill requests within a reasonable length of time. Requests are submitted to lenders that do not charge a fee, if possible. If a fee is involved, the library will notify the patron.

Patrons are notified when their material arrives. Items are kept at the Circulation Desk for three days after notification. ILL items cannot be renewed. Overdue charges are $.50 per item/per day for out of county materials.

The Clay County Library System does not order audiovisual (CD or DVD) spoken word or new books.
