Gaming Use Rules
1. Patrons must have a Clay County Library card in good standing to check out (for in-library use) gaming equipment and software at the Orange Park Library Circulation Desk or Fleming Island Library Teen Desk.
2. Only Library owned games may be used.
3. The gaming equipment and its software is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
4. Only one gaming controller, headset, and game may be checked out per card.
5. Open gaming will be limited to 60 minutes per day. If no one is waiting to use the game, play may continue for an additional 60 minutes. Users must request an extension from staff. Users must be willing to end play if someone else signs up to use the system. Users must end play at the request of the library staff.
6. Only four (4) patrons will be allowed to play at one time. Additional patrons may be in the Teen area to watch.
7. Users will not attempt to disconnect, remove or otherwise alter the arrangement of equipment in the gaming area. Anyone tampering with equipment in any manner will lose gaming privileges for the day.
8. After the play period is up, the user must check the items in at the Orange Park Library Circulation Desk or Fleming Island Library Teen Desk. An inventory of games and accessories will be made upon return.
9. Users who fail to follow the Gaming Policy or who do not treat gaming systems and equipment with care may lose their gaming privileges.
10. Any damages or financial loss suffered by the Library that occur to the Library’s space or equipment or to the gaming equipment and accessories will be the responsibility of the patron or patrons who are using the equipment at the time the damage occurs. Parents will be held financially responsible for any loss caused by their children.
