The Pawpaw Nature Center is a great place to learn about the animals and habitats in Clay County. It has interactive exhibits and children's activities that focus on various animals like gopher tortoise, wild turkey, brown water snake, beaver, alligator, manatee, and black bear. You can see a blackwater aquarium, a gopher tortoise burrow, insect dioramas, bird viewing area, animal skulls, and a hanging river grass meadow in the center. It's open from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and offers an educational experience for all ages.
