The Chowenwaw Centuries Exhibit Museum offers a fascinating look into the area's history. The Girl Scout exhibit is a must-see, highlighting the troop's establishment in Northeast Florida, the construction of Camp Chowenwaw Park, and displaying memorabilia from past Chowenwaw Girl Scouts. Meanwhile, the exhibit on the Indigenous Peoples of Clay County is a powerful testament to their cultural heritage, featuring a dugout canoe and various stone tools and pottery sherds. The museum is open on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and is closed on Federal holidays. The exhibit is the perfect place to spend an afternoon learning about the area's rich history. The Pawpaw Nature Center is a great place to learn about the animals and habitats in Clay County. It has interactive exhibits and children's activities that focus on various animals like gopher tortoise, wild turkey, brown water snake, beaver, alligator, manatee, and black bear. You can see a blackwater aquarium, a gopher tortoise burrow, insect dioramas, bird viewing area, animal skulls, and a hanging river grass meadow in the center. It's open from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and offers an educational experience for all ages.

The pollinator garden at the park's entrance was specifically designed to attract butterflies and other pollinators in our area. The exhibit provides a display of the butterfly life cycle. It showcases the common butterflies and moths in our vicinity, including the Giant Swallowtail, the Zebra Swallowtail, and the White-lined Sphinx Moth. Make it a point to visit the pollinator garden at the park entrance to gain knowledge on attracting and supporting these important pollinators.
