The Clay County Historic Preservation Board (HPB) is seeking citizens interested in volunteering their time to serve as a representative for District 1, District 2, District 3, and (2) at-large seats. The HPB meets on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 P.M. in the Administration Building, 4th Floor, BCC Meeting Room.

The Doctors Inlet/Ridgewood Citizen Advisory Committee is being re-established in 2023 for the orderly development of the Doctors Inlet/Ridgewood Planning District.

The committee consists of 6 to 11 Doctors Inlet/Ridgewood Planning District residents appointed by the Board of County Commissioners and serves in an advisory capacity to the Board.  The committee meets as needed to review Future Land Use and Rezoning applications for properties within the Doctors Inlet/Ridgewood Planning District.  If you are interested in serving on the committee, please complete the following two steps:

Step 2 – Please use the link below to submit your application to serve on the Doctors Inlet/Ridgewood Citizen Advisory Committee. Once enough applications have been received, they will be presented to the Board for consideration. Once appointed, members will serve either a one or 2-year term.

Lake Asbury/Penney Farms Citizen Advisory Committee

The Lake Asbury/Penney Farms Citizen Advisory Committee is seeking citizens interested in serving. The Committee was re-established in 2021 for the orderly development of the Lake Asbury/Penney Farms Planning District.

The Committee consists of 6 to 11 residents of the Lake Asbury/Penney Farms Planning District area (which includes the Lake Asbury Master Plan area) who are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners and serve in an advisory capacity to the Board.

The Committee meets on an as-needed basis to review Future Land Use and Rezoning applications for property within the Lake Asbury/Penney Farms Planning District.

The Planning Commission (PC) is seeking individuals interested in serving.  The PC is an advisory board to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) and provides recommendations in the matters of comprehensive planning and the Land Development Code. Pursuant to Chapter 163, Florida Statutes, the BCC designated the Planning Commission as the official Local Planning Agency for the County’s comprehensive planning process. In addition to monitoring the County Comprehensive Plan and reviewing proposed amendments, the Planning Commission also reviews proposed re-zonings and amendments to the County’s Land Development Code. The Planning Commission is comprised of eight members, with seven appointed by the BCC and one representing the Clay County School Board. Meetings are held at 5:00 P.M. on the first Tuesday of each month in the BCC Chambers, located on the fourth floor of the County Administration Building. While most matters under consideration by the Planning Commission are official public hearings, all meetings are open to the public. (All appointments are subject to the requirements of financial disclosure by the Florida Ethics Code, Chapter 112, Florida Statues).

The Southeast Clay Citizens Advisory Committee will serve in an advisory capacity regarding development within the Southeast Clay Planning District area. The Committee will meet on an as-needed basis.

Membership of the Committee will consist of 6 to 11 residents within the Planning District appointed by the Board of County Commissioners and shall serve two-year terms on a staggered basis.

For the initial terms, committees comprised of six, eight, or ten members shall have half of the members’ initial terms be set at one year, and committees consisting of seven, nine, or eleven members shall have four, five, or six members’ initial terms be set respectively at one year. The appointed member holds terms associated with the Committee appointments and seats until their resignation or removal by the BCC.
