CR-220 Widening Phase 1 and Phase 2 Projects Public Meeting

  • Date: 09/19/2024 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

We invite the public to learn more about upcoming lane-widening and reconstruction projects on County Road 220, which are expected to start before the end of 2024. These projects will include several long-term detours during their duration.

We are collaborating with the engineering firm Eisman and Russo to hold a public meeting on Thursday, September 19th from 5:00PM – 7:00PM at RideOut Elementary School. The public will have an opportunity to review project plans, view a presentation, and ask questions. County leaders will also be in attendance to help answer questions as well.

CR-220 Widening Phase 1 and Phase 2 Projects

Contractors will begin two lane-widening and reconstruction projects on County Road 220 before the end of 2024. These projects will start at the same time.

In Phase 1, County Road 220 will be widened to four lanes from Hollars Place to west of Henley Road, ending at Chief Ridaught Trail. This includes intersection improvements at County Road 220 and Henley Road. Work is expected to take 15 months.

Phase 1 construction will consist of different phases, so please expect varying traffic configurations during this time.

In Phase 2, County Road 220 will be widened to four lanes from east of Chief Ridaught Trail to Knight Boxx Road. This includes replacing the bridge over Little Black Creek, which will become a four-lane bridge. This will also include signal updates at Knight Boxx Road and Blanding Boulevard to ease traffic congestion. This project is expected to be completed 16 months after it begins.

There will be several detours in place, starting mid to late November, and they will be in place for duration of the projects. All businesses and residents will have 100% access to their businesses and residences during the entire duration of both projects.

For detours, please refer to the map.
